The five setup steps
What onboarding asks, and why each answer changes something downstream.
You are taken through these once. You can change any of it later in Account and settings.
| Step | What it asks | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| About you | Your name, company, role, website | Used to sign drafts and to work out what you sell |
| Ideal customer | The industries, sizes and countries you sell to | Used to score how relevant each signal is to you |
| Signals | Which signal types you care about | Filters what reaches your feed and digest |
| Your views | Starting saved views | Pre-builds the tabs on your dashboard |
| Target accounts | The first companies to watch | Seeds your watchlist so the feed is not empty |
Step one will not let you continue until four fields are filled in
This is deliberate rather than fussy. A draft written without knowing what you sell is a generic draft, and a generic draft is worse than no draft at all.
Creating the account itself
Sign up with an email address and password. If you were invited to a team, use the link in the invitation instead. That link joins you to the team rather than creating a separate account.
Forgotten your password? Use the “Forgot password” link on the sign-in screen and you will be emailed a reset link. If it does not arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder before contacting support.
