Adding a signal yourself

File something the scanners did not see, from a URL or from raw text.

Sometimes you know something the scanners do not: a conversation, a newsletter, a page no feed covers. This is where you file it.

  • Paste a URL, and the product fetches the page, works out what kind of event it is, and files it under the right company.
  • Or paste raw text with a title, if there is no public page to link to.

Two things to know

Your added signals are private to you. They are stamped with your account and are visible only to you. They never enter the shared feed that other members see.

The company is shared. If the company name you type does not already exist, a new company record is created, and company records are shared across the product. So the name is checked before it is accepted. If you paste something that is not a company name, such as “Series A” or “freshly funded”, it is refused and you are shown what it read. Enter the company on its own, without surrounding words from the headline.

If a URL fails to fetch, the page tells you why, and it remembers. Hosts that repeatedly fail or return the wrong thing are shown with their counts, so you learn which sources are worth pasting.
